In part two of this special two-part series, we hear the continued stories of tragedy and survival of three brave American soldiers:

Helene and Marco Paci miss son and brother Tony Paci everyday. He paid the ultimate sacrifice and Helene and Marco are determined that Tony’s service won’t be forgotten. They’ve found tangible ways to keep Tony’s memory and sacrifice present in their lives.

Nicki Bunting is also working hard to ensure that her husband’s, Captain Brian “Bubba” Bunting, memory will live on. The year after his death she organized a 5k walk/run to raise money to help and support Gold Star families. Nicki is making sure that Bubba’s sacrifice is remembered and that he remains a presence in the lives of their sons, Conner and Cooper.

After losing both of his legs and sustaining sever head trauma in Iraq, Shane Parsons is making an amazing recovery. He works hard in physical therapy and remains active by rock climbing and playing wheelchair basketball. Shane and his mother Cindy have also received another blessing in their lives. With the help of several generous organizations, the Parsons’ home has been rebuilt to accommodate all of Shane’s wheelchair and recovery needs.

American soldiers and their families are paying the ultimate sacrifice and are the true definitions of heroes. Soldiers put their lives on the line to defend the freedoms we hold dear, including the right to life. And though it’s a lifetime sacrifice, their families agree it’s important in the fight to defend our freedom.
